In response to community need the Humane Society of Mason County launched the MASH Clinic which offers high quality high volume spay and neuter surgery right here in Mason County. Each surgery includes an exam from a veterinarian, spay or neuter, and appropriate pain medication.

Our wellness clinic focuses on providing preventative care and low cost veterinary exams. Please note that we are not a full-service veterinary clinic.

Please read all of our commonly asked questions and ensure you qualify for our low cost program. If requested you must be able to show proof of income status. New appointments are added weekly and are reserved on a first come first serve basis.

DOGSSPAY/NEUTER $160
Includes a physical exam, spay or neuter surgery and take home pain medication. WELLNESS PACKAGE $60 Includes DAPP vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Flea control, Microchip with registration and E-Collar, RABIES $10 Pet must be over 3 months of age. Protects against a virus that affects the nervous system. Required by law in Washington state and in most boarding and grooming facilities. DAPP FREE Protects against distemper virus, adenovirus, parainfluenza and parvovirus. Recommend a booster in 2-4 weeks. MICROCHIP $20 Implanted unter the skin between the shoulder blades. Microchip is registered with the address and phone number provided. Lasts the lifetime of the pet includes free lifetime registration with foundnaimlas.org FLEA CONTROL $10 A topical or oral flea prevention. Protects against fleas for 30 days. E-COLLAR/CONE $10 A plastic "lampshade" type collar that prevents licking of the incision site. WORMER $10 Pyrantel - A oral wormer that kills roundworms and hookworms. |

What is a mash clinic?
MASH Clinic stands for Mobile Animal Sterilization Hospital. This clinic model offers high quality high volume spay and neuter services to pets in their own neighborhood!
Why a mobile clinic?
Mason County is huge, measuring over 1000 square miles. A mobile clinic model helps deliver services to all neighborhoods around the county. Mobile clinic setup costs are also a fraction of the cost of a brick and motar clinic.
What services will HSMC offer at MASH clinics?
Humane Society of Mason County will focus the clinics around offering spay and neuter services and wellness exams. Additional services such as microchipping, vaccines, flea prevention, and worm treatment, will also all be available. Additional medical procedures such as hernia repairs or lab tests can also be preformed at time of surgery or during a scheduled wellness exam for pets in need.
Where will the clinics be held?
Clinics will be held in various venues around the county, venues such as community centers, grange halls, and school gymnasiums will be most common locations. There will be one clinic per month in Belfair. Matlock, Hoodsport, and Shelton.
How much will services cost?
Spay and Neuter surgeries will be under $80 for cats and between $160 for dogs depending on size. Additional services will range from $10-$20. Financial assistance is not available at this time, HSMC is actively working on financial assistance options for the future.
Do I qualify for this program?
Pet owners must qualify as low income status (2 family members: $46,107 or less, 3 members: $51,870 or less, 4 members: $57,634 or less). If requested you must be able to show proof of income status.
If you are currently enrolled and receiving benefits from the following programs you are qualified for our program: Social Security, Disability, Food Stamps, Section 8 Public Housing, WIC, Medicaid, or Unemployment.

What can i have done during a wellness exam?
Our wellness clinic focuses on providing preventative care and low cost veterinary exams. This includes but is not limited to administering vaccines, microchips, dewormers, and flea medication. During your appointment we can discuss concerns you have regarding your pet. Please note that we are not a full-service veterinary clinic.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Appointments can be scheduled via the above button or you may call the HSMC office to schedule your appointment over the phone. Once the appointment has been confirmed you will receive an email with consent forms to sign digitally, if you do not have access to a computer we will have you sign the consent forms the morning of your appointment.
- Our appointments fill up fast. Please continue to check our website as new appointments are added weekly.
- Appointments can be cancelled up to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment for a full refund of your deposit. All no shows or cancellations less than 48 hours in advance will result in our deposit becoming a non-refundable donation to HSMC.
- For spay neuter appointments: Drop off time in the morning is between 7:30 and 8:30am *No admittance after 8:30am. Pick up appointments are between 3:00 and 4:00pm.
- For vaccine and/or microchip appointments: These are scheduled as 15 minute appointments in the afternoon.
- If your pet is having surgery you will receive an email to complete your payment for services around mid day. Paying via this email will ensure an efficient pick up appointment. If your pet has a vaccine and/or microchip appointment you will pay for any additional services at the conclusion of your appointment. We can only accept cash or card at this time.
