Who is Sekhmet? She is an ancient Egyptian Goddess featuring a feline head with an interesting backstory, appropriate for this charity. In ancient Egyptian Mythology, when Ra grows tired of humanities constant sin and foolishness, he decides to destroy everyone on earth. He unleashes “Sekhmet” to clean things up, however he realizes that it would not be wise to destroy everyone. Sekhmet is so consumed with her task that Ra commands that a large quantity of beer be dyed red with ochre and spread in her path. Sekhmet finds the beer and thinking it is blood, drinks it and becomes drunk and falls asleep. Satiated, she stops her rampage on humanity. Beer comes to the rescue and $1 from each pint of Sekhmet Red Ale will be donated to rescue feral cats and kittens, cheers to Sekhmet Red!
